Some Frequent and Popular Questions

Will the class days and times remain the same until the Spring recital?

Yes. I may add other classes but the current schedule set will be the schedule until after the Spring Recital. I already added a Whetstone Tues 11am Pre-Ballet class

What if I want to add my child to a class she is not currently taking?

The best way to secure your place in a class is to purchase the costume prior to registration.

What if I want my child to take a class but not buy the costume?

If you want your child to try a class, but not sure about purchasing a costume let me know. I prefer to leave the spots open for those children that want to dance in costume in the recital. But I don’t want any child to miss out on learning dance. I can put your child on a waiting list and let you know after registration if the class is too full. This will also let me know if I should add another class, based on interest.

Spring session I will try to add “non recital” classes to the schedule, however these classes will be on different days than the normal schedule. And I am very limited to when I can add classes, based on my daughters schedule, availability of the room, and my current teaching schedule. I call these classes non-recital, but your child can wear a specific color leotard and skirt, and perform in the Spring Recital, as in the Winter Show. But the classes may not be at good times for you either.

Spring session, if you want your child to participate in the recital, but did not buy a costume, you will have to switch classes. It may be too late to purchase a costume and get it delivered in time for the show.

Unfortunately, there is no way to accommodate everyone, if everyone in the class is not wearing a costume then it defeats the purpose of ordering them. I understand cost can be a huge issue, and the last thing I want to do is prevent a child from getting to participate in some way.

Can I sponsor a child?

Yes. Currently we have a page on the website for making donations. I have sent Jason an e-mail asking him to add a “Sponsor a Child” option on the order form. We may be able to do a lottery if we have many that need help. UPDATE: Here’s the link to Sponsor a Child.

How can I get my child sponsored?

If you need help with class fees P.L.A.Y. grants are available. The city will pay up to $20 per child for one class per session. http://parks.columbus.gov/programs.aspx?id=26615

If you want your child to be sponsored for a costume, let me know.

I hope this helps. If you have suggestions let me know. There are many factors involved that make this complicated…. the way the city does registration, cost, your schedules, my schedules, room availability, just to name a few.
