All classes are taught in a structured atmosphere geared toward individual attention to each student.
Pre Ballet– Teaches the beginner fundamentals or ballet. Feet and arm positions, stretching, center and floor work. Intended for children 3-5 years olds and for 6 year olds that have never had ballet before.
Beg Ballet– Continues the fundamentals introduced in Pre-ballet. Feet and arm positions, stretching, center and floor work. Also introduces formations and turns. Prepares students for the next level of ballet. Intended for children ages 5-6 that have taken ballet before and for those children ages 6-9 that have never had any ballet training. Prerequisite to Ballet I.
Ballet I– Basics of ballet. Feet and arm positions, stretching, center and floor work. Introduces work at the barre as well as turns leaps and jumps. Intended for those more serious dancers who have mastered the skills of beg ballet. Ages 8-13. New students only permitted with teacher approval.
Ballet II– Intended for the serious dancer who has mastered the skills of ballet I. Continues the training in barre work, turns, leaps and jumps. Ages 9 and up. New students only permitted with teacher approval.
Pre Tap– Introduces the basics in tap. Improves coordination and balance. Prepares pre-schoolers for future training. Teaches placement and spacing. Intended for children 3-5 years olds and for 6 year olds that have never had dance before.
Beg Tap– Introduces the basics in tap. Improves coordination and balance. Teaches placement and spacing. Recommended all tap students age 6-8 year begin with this class. Second year for pre-schoolers who have mastered pre-tap skills.
Tap I– This class builds on the basic dance steps taught in beginner tap and introduces students to the next level. Improves coordination and balance, teaches placement, spacing and formations. Intended for those dancers age 5-8 that have mastered the skills taught in beg tap and for those new students ages 9 and up who are beginning tap.
Tap II– Advancement to this level is at the teachers discretion.
Tap III– Advancement to this level is at the teachers discretion.
Jazz– A combination of dance styles, including the grace of ballet and the fun of hip hop. Teaches basic dance steps and stretching. Introduces students to turns, leaps and jumps. Intended for beginner dancers ages 6-13 This is a great class for those children interested in performing in musicals, show choirs, dance teams, cheerleading or other forms of dance.
Drill Team Classes
Drill Team– Precision dance. Cheerleader type movements and dance moves combined. Includes discipline, stretches, marching drills, kicks, jumps, turns and fundamentals of dance. Formation changes and audience appeal. Intended for children 6-13 interested in cheerleading, dance teams, and marching band.
Drama/Theatre Class– Children will learn basic acting skills by participating in skits. Depending on the session students will build sets, act and or create performance resumes. Intended for children 5-13. The ability to read is important for this class but not required. Week long all day Drama/Theatre camps will be offered in the Summer.
