Due to the Popularity of the Pre/Beg Ballet Classes

All Dancers: I try to give my returning students priority for registration. If your child wants to continue their training, I want to make sure they can. Some classes fill very quickly on the Cities Activenet website and those without the ability to register on-line can get closed out of a class before they can make it to the center to register in person.

By putting your child’s name on my class roster prior to registration of the new session, you do not have to register on the website, your spot is saved and you can register in person*. Your name must be on the list in order to register this way. This process also allows me to see how many openings remain. Currently enrolled students have priority, followed by students that are returning from past sessions.

*If you ask me to save your child’s place, you must register in person before the first class. Please do not register on-line, if you do, you will be taking an open spot for another child. If you do not register and miss the first 2 classes, you will lose your place in class. Please reach out to me if your child is going to miss any classes.

I offer this pre-registration option to all my Dance classes, so please let me know if you want to return or continue any classes for Spring 2022. We will be starting dances for the 2022 Spring Recital this session in 2-3 weeks.

Spring Session start March 21
Registration is Marc`h 14-20

P.L.A.Y. Grants are available thru the city for those that qualify and need help with class fees. The city will pay up to $20 per child per session for one activity offered at Columbus Recreation and Parks Recreation Centers.

Far East Dancers

For Winter and Spring Sessions I added a Pre/Beg ballet Class at Far East on Fridays at 5 pm. This class will not meet on Fri, May 20th due to the Spring Recital Dress Rehearsal.

The Thursday 5pm Pre/Beg Ballet class at Far East still has a few openings and are reserved for any past students wanting to return. Please contact me if you would like me to save a place in class for your child.

Whetstone Dancers

The 5 pm Pre/Beg ballet class at Whetstone is now officially full (all 15 spots are filled) for Winter Session. If you are currently enrolled in the class and know you want to return for Spring for the same class and time, please let me know.

If you are not currently enrolled in the 5 pm Wed class and would like to have your child dance, please let me know if you would be interested in a Monday 5 pm Pre/Beginner class at Whetstone. There are no Monday Holidays Spring Session.

If you are not currently enrolled in the 5 pm Wed class but would like to return during that day/time at Whetstone, please let me know and I will put you on my waiting list and let you know if there is an opening next session.

Pre/Beg Tap classes at both centers at 5:30 pm (Far East Thurs) (Whetstone Wed) are near capacity.

Thank You, Miss Nicole

Hello to Everyone

As we slowly get back into our new normal, it had been sketchy if classes would be cancelled from session to session due to COVID-19, so I have not made an official announcement that I was back teaching. I didn’t want the kids to be pulled in and out of classes and have to deal with that disappointment. I am currently working on updating the website and the e-mail list of those that wish to continue to receive e-mails from Dreaming of Broadway Dance.

2022 Winter classes are underway, Spring registration is March 14-20. I understand anyone’s hesitance to come back due to COVID-19. I am fully vaccinated and I wear a mask during classes, and strongly encourage the dancers to wear masks, too.

I am also working on a Spring Recital for 2022. We will not be ordering professional costumes at this time. For those that ordered costumes in 2020, I still have them and I will be sending out info about that later.

To those students who no longer wish to participate with Dreaming of Broadway Dance, I hope you  continue to dance elsewhere or are pursuing other interests and I hope you are healthy and happy. Please let me know what you are doing and let me know where dreams take you.

Sincerely, Miss Nicole

Spring Update

Hi Everyone,

The city is refunding anyone that paid for the Spring Session. It could be a few weeks before you see the refund.

As far as Spring Session, there is no update, we just have to see how this goes. The centers may be closed longer than April 3rd, I will let you know as soon as I hear anything.

Please do not lose hope, we will get thru this. Our recital may just have to be a later date.

All my love,
Miss Nicole

Spring Classes

Hi Everyone,

As many of you may know the city has closed all rec centers until April 3rd. I will begin Spring Session Classes as soon as the Centers re-open.

As far as the recital. I am still planning on the May 15 & 16 dates and times, however, we will just have to see how things play out. I can not teach or rent the High School as long as they are closed.

All costumes have been ordered and have been arriving. Costumes will be distributed in class as originally planned.

I’m sorry I don’t have better information.

Please enjoy this time with your families, be safe and I hope everyone stays healthy.

I miss you all.

Miss Nicole

Dance Sale

Hi Everyone,

I will be at Whetstone and Far East for registration the following days/times:

Whetstone Tuesday March 10th (3 pm – 6 pm)
Whetstone Wednesday March 11th (3 pm – 6 pm)
Far East Thursday March 12th (5 pm – 7 pm)

I will be selling used leotards and new/used tights for class, as well as used costumes to wear as play clothes. I will also have new tights to purchase for the recital. Proceeds from sales will go toward our Dance Recital.

If you have any questions or would like to order flowers, candy bouquets, Sponsor a Child, purchase a program ad, etc. I will be able to assist you then, too..

If you have any outgrown leotards, or costumes you would like to donate, please bring them in to class next week and I will keep in stock what I believe we can use (duplicates) and try to sell the rest. We are also asking for hair bows, skirts, dance shoes, beads, ribbon (anything that could be made into costumes), rolls of fabric, boys dress shirts, leggings..

Thanks for your contributions, donations and support.

Miss Nicole

Possible Fundraising Idea

Let me know if you’re interested!

The night of the Dress Rehearsal on Fri Night, many of the parents and dancers are coming straight from work/school. One of the moms suggested making pre-order meals for $5 each for those that would want to purchase them.

Meals would have to be pre-ordered/paid for by May 9th.

The meal would consist of:

  • a plain beef hot dog/bun
  • Mini Water
  • Apple sauce pouch or banana (your choice)
  • fruit snack

We do not want to encourage eating in your costume. Food and drink are not permitted backstage.

However, it’s a hectic night and we were hoping to make things easier so you don’t have to go thru a drive thru on your way to the rehearsal.

The meals would be ready for when you arrive to dress rehearsal. Bring a huge t-shirt to put over your child’s costume while they eat. Water can ruin a satin costume. And we specifically made it a plain hot dog so no ketchup or mustard or other condiments could ruin costumes.

Please let me know if you are interested in pre-ordering a meal or two or more. Cost will be $5 per meal. If enough people are interested, I will have it put on the website, so people can order.

Thank you,
Miss Nicole
